About our Lodge

North Shore Lodge is located at the eastern end of the main basin of Eagle Lake and is at the centre of Eagle’s fantastic fishing. It takes just minutes from our dock to reach legendary spots like Partridge Point, Coleman’s Reef, the Walleye Rocks and Pat’s Reef.   If you are looking for adventure, we are at the most convenient jumping off point for expeditions into the lake’s wild southern bays where you can leave civilization far behind. From the door of your cabin, you will be looking out at some of the very best fishing water in creation.

North Shore Lodge itself is situated on 187 acres of waterfront, boreal forest and Canadian Shield scenery. The historic lodge has a unique and rustic design centered on the endlessly changing views of Eagle Lake.  Feel the anticipation of a misty morning on the lake while enjoying breakfast, or watch a sunset light the sky as you unwind with a game of pool or share tales about the day. Keep in touch with e-mail on our free wi-fi, but let the calling loons out on the water remind you where you are.  Should you forget a necessity or lose your favourite bait while fighting an Eagle Lake giant, we may have what you are looking for at our store.

Our cabins are cozy, warm and comfortable. Each cabin accommodates from 2 to 18 people, has electric or propane heat, a three or four-piece bathroom, coffee pot, dishes and a refrigerator.  Our housekeeping cottages are fully equipped with stove and cooking utensils.  Of course, clean linens and towels are supplied for you and maid service is provided daily for American Plan guests. Housekeeping guests are provided with fresh towels each day.

North Shore Lodge is open for walleye, pike and bass fishing from the third Saturday in May and musky fishing opens the third Saturday in June.  The lodge remains open until mid-October providing the opportunity to catch an Eagle Lake monster during the fall musky hunt. Deer hunting during the first two weeks of November has a limited number of openings, so be sure to book early.

Daily Routine

American Plan guests will receive their morning and evening meals in the lodge. Breakfast is served at 7:00 a.m. and you can head down to the dock as soon as you finish the meal. Your guide will be waiting to get you out on the water for a full day’s adventure on Eagle Lake.  North Shore Lodge guides are very courteous, reliable and experienced.  Many have spent their lives fishing and hunting on and around Eagle Lake.  They will ensure your time on the water is both enjoyable and productive. Included in the guide price is the option of a shore lunch on one of the beautiful islands in the lake. A pan of just-caught walleye fillets fried up with onions and potatoes by these seasoned outdoorsmen is an experience never to be forgotten! At 4:00 p.m., you will return to the dock and have time to relax and enjoy a cold beverage before the evening meal is served at 6:00 p.m.

Housekeeping guests can start whenever they are ready, sleeping in or going out early to be on a favourite spot in those special moments before the sun rises. From beginning to end, plan your day exactly the way you want it. Cook yourself a shore lunch and take a nap on an island in the afternoon if you want, or fish all day and stay out until the last light after the sun sets for a chance at the fish of a lifetime.
